PEACE FEAST SAT.MAY 28, 2016

Come Celebrate the 4th Annual Peace Feast                at the Square Dance Pavilion in Pioneer Park on Saturday, May 28th!

Alaska Peace Center will supply barbecue which all are invited to supplement with potluck starting at 12 noon.

The ‘program’ will feature folks sharing what they have been doing that helps support movements for peace, justice, and sustainability:
Susan Grace and fellow singers sing songs of peace, justice, and earthcare;
Flyn Ludington will talk about our new all-volunteer radio station, KWRK-LP 90.9 FM;
Nathan Baring* will tell about the children’s environment protection court case;
Karl Franke will share the progress made by FCNL citizen lobbying in Washington, D.C.;
Rob Mulford will tell about the upcoming visit by peace activist David Swanson;
Dave Matheny* will share insights about climate justice from his time in Paris for the Climate Conference last winter;
Princess Johnson, who also attended the Paris climate conference, will talk about the activities of Fairbanks Climate Action Coalition;
John Stowman will share the opportunities of Fair Bikes; and
Carrie Farr will update us on the Alternatives to Violence Project.

APC meeting

Alaska Peace Center monthly meetings are the first Thursday of each month; however, we will take a break for June, so the next meeting will be Thursday, July 7th, 2016, at 7pm at our office at 3535 College Rd, suite 203 (which we share with Fairbanks Open Radio, KWRK-LP, 90.9 FM – now regularly on air!).
