We respectfully acknowledge that our office is located on the ancestral and unceded traditional territories of the lower Tanana Dene Peoples. The Indigenous peoples of this land never surrendered lands or resources to Russia or the United States.
The Alaska Peace Center is in the College Mall, 3535 College Road, just east of University Avenue. We’re in a two-room suite shared with Fairbanks Open Radio. It is Room 203, upstairs near the west end, catty-corner across the parking lot from Sunshine Health Food (the old Gulliver’s Books building). The stairwell is at the west end of the building and shares an external door with the Fuji Steakhouse. There is an elevator near the center of the building. Handicap parking is available.
We are not able to maintain regular open hours at this time, but call or (preferably) email if you’d like to make arrangements to talk, watch a video of some current issue, or browse our library. Monthly meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 7 pm and are open to the public. In response to the covid pandemic we have been holding them over Zoom for the time being. Check this website or the calendar for the link. Interested persons are welcome and are encouraged to attend. Our traditional monthly potluck on the last Friday of each month to watch a movie or discuss some issue is now being held, without the potluck part, over Zoom. Check the calendar!

Some time ago a Friend from Fairbanks sent my wife and I a card produced by your Peace Center–a water color print of Denali on the front & an inside inscription “They shall beat their swords into…….”. Would it be possiblr for us to buy one or two dozen of these cards? They are so special.

The cards were made for ALaska Peace Center by Ann Mallard, and are currently out of stock. However, before she moved away to Tasmania, she left the supplies to make more. Since there is interest, I will bring it up at next week’s mtg to find someone with the time and know-how to do so. Please re-inquire via info@alaskapeace.org to help us remember! And thanks for asking!

Privat, I would like to thank you guys for voicing your objection to Victoria Nuland’s position in the Biden administration. I know all too well, what went down in Ukraine, Donbass and Crimea before , during and after the Maidan, and I still keep an eye open in this part of the world. I live in Crimea and have for a number of years now. I also lived in Alaska for over 3 decades. Thanks Again.

Garry, Thanks for writing and for your clarification/confirmation of events in Ukraine. It’s not easy for us in North America to get an accurate understanding of all the different ways our government exercises its hegemony over the rest of the world. Thanks!
