All welcome! Front and center for this meeting will be the election of board members. Some board members have reached term limits, so some new people are needed. Our by-laws state that we can serve on the board for five consecutive two-year terms. We gladly anticipate fresh board energy, possibly moving the organization in new directions! Other topics for discussion include developing ways to support the newly enacted UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW). There are opportunities both locally within our community (see ICAN cities appeal), and statewide in collaboration with Veterans For Peace Chapter 100 in Juneau who are developing a dynamic program for getting Alaskan youth involved. Locally, we also need to finalize a new TPNW-related ad to run on the Borough buses here in town. Additionally, our annual Peace Feast at Pioneer Park is coming up in late May and we need to begin advance planning for that.
