Hello everyone,
The Tanana Valley State Fair is almost here, and we’re looking for volunteers to help staff the Alaska Peace Center booth! The fair runs 12-10pm Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 9, and we’d love to have you join us for one or more shifts.
Our daily shifts are:
- A Shift: Noon – 3:15 PM
- B Shift: 3:00 PM – 6:15 PM
- C Shift: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
If these times don’t quite work for you, let us know—we’re happy to be flexible whenever possible.
If you’ve volunteered at the fair before, you already know the basics. We share information and fundraise by selling merchandise. Before the fair begins, we’ll send everyone the details you’ll need, including the booth location, helpful tabling tips, and other information to make your shift easy and enjoyable.
All volunteers get a free day pass to the Fair for the day(s) they volunteer. Naturally, you can walk around and see the rest of the Fair before or after your shift!
To sign up for one or more shifts, go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0849AFA922A2F5C25-64765260-alaska.
One of the wonderful things about staffing the booth is the opportunity to connect with people about the many ways we can all work toward peace. If there’s a group, organization, or project you’d like to share while you’re at the booth, you’re welcome to bring information—as long as it aligns with the Alaska Peace Center’s mission*. (We will coordinate this detail after you sign up.)
Thank you for considering volunteering. Whether you can give a few hours or several shifts, your time helps make the Alaska Peace Center’s presence at the fair welcoming, informative, and inspiring. We hope to see you there!
In peace,
