This film witnesses the formation of a new civil rights movement in Ukraine in 2013 and 2014. It captures the remarkable mobilization of nearly a million citizens from across the country.
Rev. Neill McKay recently traveled to the Ukraine, participating in a Peacemaking Travel Study Seminar. He will address information in the movie and speak about his experiences there.

Today, Arbor Day in Alaska, Alaska Peace Center and Fairbanks Arbor Day Committee plant a tree to honor the late Chris White, 7:30pm at Laborers’ Hall on Davis Road.
Chris was a member of Alaska Peace Center board of directors, as well as of Fairbanks Open Radio KWRK-LP 90.9FM, and International Workers of the World – IWW- who have joined to co-sponsor this event.

Armistice Day has traditionally been celebrated by ringing bells as a symbol of the huge sense of relief felt by the whole world when “The Great War” ended in November 1918 and people could finally stop slaughtering each other. The renam
ing of November 11 as “Veteran’s Day” has effectively converted it into a celebration of militarism, setting the climate for more wars, killing and heartbreak.
Join us for two events to reclaim Armistice Day as a celebration of peace and an opportunity to commit ourselves to peaceful tomorrows.
We will have a short bell-ringing ceremony at the Veteran’s Park at 11:00. In the afternoon there will be a celebration of peace at the J. P. Jones Center from 3:00 to 5:00. The program will include several speakers and a performance by our extraordinary Peace Choir.
